What You Will Learn After Becoming A Public Speaker.

If you are someone who has always had a passion for public speaking and are planning on seriously pursuing it as a career, then you have landed at the right article.

Public speaking can be absolutely rewarding since you are able to spread your message and beliefs to a very large platform. You start off speaking to a smaller group of people such as within an organization and then as you build up a reputation, you get bigger and wider venues. The prospect of people absorbing and responding to what you have to say is invigorating. This is the exact same thing that I have felt in my vast career of being a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and writer.

I am a prime example of someone who has turned my passion into my career. I first pursued my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University, and then an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from El Centro College. Richard also invented a Credit and Debit receiving and Dispensing Device that allowed items to be dispensed using both, credit card and debit cards. I then opened up my own business called the Rich Publishing House.

So, I have a few words of wisdom I’d like to share your way:

You have to really want to speak publicly

The reason why you should turn to public speaking is that you have some sort of an important message to dispense to the crowd, and not because you think it will bring in a lot of money or fame. If you do not have a profound message that you want to share, you will not be able to find that connection with the audience and your career will remain at a standstill.

You have to start small

You cannot expect to hit it big in the very first go. It just does not work that way. You will have to go for small gigs that might pay little to no money at all. You can consider them as your practice sessions- who knows you might find something permanent within the first few sessions.

Don’t speak on something that is out of your lane

When you are experienced in a subject, you can deliver a speech that is ripe with real-life examples, making it easier for the listeners to relate. However, if you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about, then you might lose your audience as they may be able to immediately detect that something is amiss in this situation.

You need to care about what you say

Your care towards the subject you are speaking on will shine through your speaking and allow more loyal believers to really gather around the subject and take it to heart. You have to finger the strings of the audience’s heart. You accomplish this by really being passionate about what you say.
